Jersey Shore Musician Suffers Heart Attack On Red Bank Stage
A local performer was hospitalized during a Saturday performance at The Vogel in Red Bank after he suffered a heart attack.
RED BANK, NJ - A Jersey Shore-based musician suffered a heart attack amid a sold-out tribute show at one of Red Bank’s newest music venues, requiring a stent implant at Riverview Medical Center.
Bob Burger of Bob Burger and the Red Shoes: The Music of Elvis Costello was in the middle of a performance when he began to feel faint with chest pain, according to a Facebook post from the musician detailing the event. He was operated on within an hour of leaving the stage, a swift move which might’ve saved his life, Burger said.
“Yep, I had a heart attack with 100% blockage of a major artery! But, after surgery to install a stent I am feeling much better and hopefully all will be fine,” the 67-year-old wrote.

He notably performed at a 2007 Labor Day Party for fellow New Jerseyan Jon Bon Jovi, eventually jamming with party guests such as Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffett, Roger Waters and Bon Jovi himself.
