John Dias Talks Candida at Two River Theater

John Dias, the artistic director of Candida, now appearing at Two River Theater, discusses the play and the motivation of its writer, George Bernard Shaw, in this short teaser trailer.

As Dias explains it, Candida is an exploration of relationships and a woman's self-discovery. On the surface it's a story about a woman's choice between two men, but in consideration it's about so much more.

“Candida seems the perfect woman—smart, spirited, loving, and capable. She is married to Morell, an eloquent and passionate preacher.
