Jon Stewart To Host Online Fundraiser For Red Bank Charity
A virtual fundraiser for Red Bank-based charity Lunch Break will take place on Aug. 27, according to the organization.

RED BANK, NJ – Comedian Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show” fame is set to host a virtual fundraising event for local food bank and social services organization Lunch Break.
The programming for the Red Bank-based nonprofit, dubbed “Rising Together”, will be livestreamed on Aug. 27 at 7 p.m., according to a release.
The event is slated to include musical performances by local students and artists, as well as detail the organization’s ‘Operation Gear-Up: We Will Not Miss A Meal’ pandemic response plan to feeding community members in need.

Stewart, a Monmouth County resident himself, owns two homes in Red Bank as well as the 11-acre Hockhockson Farm in Colts Neck, according to Red Bank Green. Stewart and his wife Tracey have pledged to donate all produce from their first harvest this year to Lunch Break.
“We are so excited to have Jon Stewart host this historic broadcast event highlighting the incredible community response for our neighbors who are unable to afford food because they are struggling with financial burdens,” said Lunch Break Board President John Klein. “We can’t thank our volunteers and donors enough for all their support.”

All proceeds from the online benefit will go to furthering Lunch Break’s mission of providing food, clothing and life skills to those struggling financially in Monmouth County and beyond.
Online donations will be accepted at www.lunchbreak.org or in-person at the organization’s headquarters, 121 Drs. James Parker Blvd. in Red Bank.
