Monmouth County Borough Among The Best Places To Retire In NJ, List Says
In the list from WorldAtlas, the borough is described as "the perfect location for retirees seeking an active yet peaceful retirement."
RED BANK, NJ — A borough in Monmouth County has been named as one of the best places to retire in the Garden State.
In a list from WorldAtlas called “The Best Small Towns To Retire In New Jersey,” Red Bank was named as a “charming town” that provides retirees with “a distinctive and engaging retirement experience.”
According to WorldAtlas, Red Bank’s downtown features a variety of shops, eateries, and cultural venues that offer plenty of entertainment options, alongside "the scenic Navesink River waterfront," which is ideal for boating, kayaking, fishing and more.

In addition to the borough's downtown area, Red Bank is also home to “several beautiful parks” that could be ideal for visits with grandchildren and a picturesque waterfront promenade, the list said.
WorldAtlas also described the borough’s “friendly community and strong sense of camaraderie” as attributes that make it easy for retirees to make new friends and participate in social activities.

“In a nutshell, Red Bank is the perfect location for retirees seeking an active yet peaceful retirement, complete with vibrant culture, beautiful scenery, and a welcoming community,” WorldAtlas said.
In addition to Red Bank, other New Jersey towns named to the list include:

This is far from the first time that Red Bank has been recognized for its strong community and downtown attractions.
In 2025, it was named as the most peaceful place in New Jersey by TheTravel.com, which described the borough as somewhere with “peaceful residential neighborhoods” and a “beautiful, walkable downtown.”
