Monmouth County DWI Checkpoint Set For Friday

The checkpoint is part of an ongoing effort to deter drunk driving, authorities have said.

SHREWSBURY, NJ — As part of ongoing efforts to convince drivers to not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the Monmouth County DWI Task Force will again be conducting a DWI checkpoint this weekend.

The checkpoint will run from 10 p.m. Friday through 2 a.m. Saturday on Route 35 south in Shrewsbury, said Brielle Police Chief Michael W. Palmer, the task force coordinator.

Task force members and officers from the Shrewsbury Police Department will pull vehicles from the southbound lanes into the Shrewsbury Plaza parking lot to determine the sobriety of the drivers, Palmer said.
