This Monmouth County Town Square Among Most Charming In NJ, WorldAtlas Says

RED BANK, NJ — A Monmouth County town square has been ranked among the most charming in New Jersey in a new list from WorldAtlas.

In their list of the 11 Most Charming Town Squares In New Jersey, WorldAtlas looked across the Garden State for the town squares that stand out the most.

"Some sit at colonial commons where troops once drilled. Others grew up around railroad depots and river landings," WorldAtlas wrote. "A few pull triple duty as pedestrian mall, farmers market, and evening concert lawn."

Nicknamed "The Greenwich Village of New Jersey," Red Bank is one of the town squares that made WorldAtlas' list, for its concentration of independent boutiques, galleries and record stores.

Located on the Navesink River, WorldAtlas described how Broad Street becomes the Broadwalk each year from mid-May through September, as the borough closes the stretch between Front and White Streets to traffic.

"The result is a European-style pedestrian plaza with outdoor dining, live music, and no cars for four months," WorldAtlas wrote.

In their list, WorldAtlas also highlighted the Count Basie Center for the Arts' presence in Red Bank, as well as iconic locations such as Yestercades and Robinson Ale House.
