FARMINGDALE, NJ — The First United Methodist Church of Farmingdale says it is offering a "multitude" of peach desserts this Sunday, Aug. 14, at its 30th Annual Peach Festival.

In a menu worthy of the "Forrest Gump" shrimp scene, there will be "peaches sliced, by the bowl, peach pie, peach crisp, peach ice cream and peaches by the bag," organizers say. In a word, everything is "peachy," they say in their flyer.

The event runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church, 8 Main St., Farmingdale.

The menu feature 100 pounds of Eastmont Orchards Peaches, several donated Delicious Orchard's peach pies and several gallons of Four Boys Peach Ice Cream.

The prices range between $4 to $8. There is also a homemade baked goods sale.

Customers can dine in or take out. If weather permits, there will be some outdoor seating.

Parking and entrance are at the rear of the church.

Proceeds will benefit the church's Gussie Lewis Scholarship fund, named in memory of a former church member, longtime resident and teacher in Farmingdale.

The church thanked the merchants and area organizations and volunteers for their donations of time and money.
