Person Fatally Struck By Train In Red Bank, NJ Transit Says
The incident occurred early Wednesday and led to a temporary suspension of North Jersey Coast Line service between Long Branch and Matawan.

RED BANK, NJ — A person was struck and fatally injured at the Red Bank train station on Wednesday morning, NJ Transit said.
After departing Long Branch at 6:08 a.m., North Jersey Coast Line train 3218 struck and fatally injured a person at the Red Bank station at 6:20 a.m.
There were no reported injuries to the crew and the 55 customers on board, according to NJ Transit.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
North Jersey Coast Line service was suspended between Long Branch and Matawan following the incident, but resumed in both directions at 9:15 a.m.

Shuttle service is being provided between the Long Branch and Matawan stations.
NJ Transit police are leading the investigation into the incident.
