Photography Is An Art At Camera Culture In Red Bank
Camera Culture, 24 Monmouth St., is a hub for photography equipment, advice and more from experts Jeff Gross and Amanda Snell.

RED BANK, NJ — Amanda Snell and Jeff Gross hope to share their passion for photography with the Red Bank community at their new shop, Camera Culture, 24 Monmouth St.
The traditional neighborhood camera shop opened three months ago and just had a grand opening event last weekend as its new sign went into place.
The store buys and sells vintage and modern cameras, makes repairs, and has film for sale for old-school photographers. It also provides film development, printing and scanning services.

"We love photography and we want to help other people get into photography," said Snell.
She and Gross are married and both are photographers. Gross's family has owned the Photo Center in Brick since 1977, she said. And the family had lots of contact with Dorn's Photos, the iconic Red Bank photography business owned for decades by the Dorn family that closed in 2004.

Red Bank seemed a natural place to fill that void.
Camera Culture brings customers to a world of photography they may have only experienced "back in the day," Snell said.
They sell film; they develop film - and they offer photography advice.
In fact, the couple conducts a free 35mm film photography class on Sundays for beginners and anyone interested in learning about photography.
Snell said printing photos is popular with customers, including those who shoot with cell phones.
"Photos just stay in their cameras - they never print them," she said.
Now, there's a way to make a custom print from a photo that's especially important to a customer, she said.
And they can help customers protect a photographic legacy. The store offers restoration services so treasured family photos can see a new life.
