Police: Red Bank Man Beat Victim, Stole Necklace

Dante Delaney kicked and punched the victim and stole a Cuban link necklace in November, according to court documents.

A Red Bank man is facing multiple charges in a November robbery at where he is accused was punching and kicking the person before stealing a gold necklace, according to a criminal complaint released by the Monmouth County prosecutor’s office.

Dante D. Delaney, 19, of Chapin Avenue has been charged with two counts of robbery and receiving stolen property in the incident, according to the complaint. Police allege Delaney beat the victim and stole a 14-carat gold Cuban link necklace about 1 p.m. on Nov. 29, and less than two hours later was seen with the necklace on surveillance video at the Little Diamond Jewelry Store in Red Bank.

The complaint charges Delaney caused the victim significant bodily harm during the course of the robbery.

Bail was set at $50,000, with no 10 percent option, by Municipal Court Judge William Himelman.
