Power Outage Hits 1,300 In Red Bank Wednesday
JCP&L says contractor work on a substation caused damage, resulting in the mid-day outage.

RED BANK, NJ — JCP&L reported that power was cut off to about 1,300 residents or business in Red Bank Wednesday after substation work damaged infrastructure.
The outage started at about 11 a.m. in the Broad Street area, but power was returned by 6 p.m., according to Will Boye a JCP&L spokesperson.
Boye said company policy does not disclose the specific location of substations to avoid vandalism to equipment.

He did not have the name of the contractor, but he said workers were "digging" when they damaged the infrastructure.
