Prosecutor Reviving Friendship Forces With Community Forum In Red Bank

If you have questions you want to ask of law enforcement in Monmouth County, Saturday's forum is your opportunity.

RED BANK, NJ — If you've wanted to sit down and talk with law enforcement in Monmouth County, you will have that opportunity on Saturday, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office announced Wednesday.

Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced Pilgrim Baptist Church of Red Bank will host the Community & Law Enforcement Conversation Seminar on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. This event is sponsored by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Social Justice Ministry of Pilgrim Baptist Church, Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association, the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, and Citizens for A Diverse & Open Society.

"Now, more than ever it is important for law enforcement and the community in Monmouth County to have an open dialogue to better understand the issues facing the region and what we can do together to address those issues. This seminar will serve as a forum to have those conversations," Gramiccioni said.

The event will serve as a kickoff for re-establishing "Friendship Forces" in communities throughout Monmouth County. The goal of a Friendship Force is to foster greater dialogue between the community, youth and law enforcement in an effort to enhance community wellness, the prosecutor's office said.

The seminar is open to clergy, community leaders, youth groups, high school students and law enforcement of Monmouth County. The seminar will feature guest speakers, group discussions and video presentations.

The event is free, but you must register. Attendees will receive continental breakfast, lunch and education/resource materials for participation.
