Qigong Classes Will Begin At Riverside Park In Red Bank
The Borough Parks and Recreation Department will offer this "moving meditation" program in individual classes in August.
RED BANK, NJ — The Red Bank Parks and Recreation Department is offering Qigong classes this August.
The classes are open to children over 12 and adults and will take place Aug. 15, 18, 22, 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Riverside Gardens Park. The cost is $20 per class.
Often described as "moving meditation," Qigong combines gentle movements, relaxed breathing and focused attention. The instructor is John Mercurio. Participants should bring a towel or mat.

The practice of Qigong can reduce stress, improve balance and improve overall quality of life, according to the department. The practice has roots in ancient Chinese culture, and is now practiced globally.
