RBC Presents "The Little Mermaid" March 10 - 13th

Journey to the undersea world of Ariel and her friends when RBC presents "The Little Mermaid" March 10th through 13th, with two matinees.

Red Bank Catholic Performing Arts invites you watch the historic Broad Street Auditorium stage transform into an underwater kingdom as the Casey Players present The Little Mermaid, a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved story and the classic Disney animated film. Opening March 10th, with music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Part of Your World.”

The mermaid princess Ariel (senior Kate Mazza) is fascinated by the world above the sea and people who live there and longs to someday join them, though her father, King Triton (senior Ryerson Shippee) forbids any contact. Ariel nevertheless falls in love with the human Prince Eric (junior John Gnazzo) and bargains with the evil sea witch Ursula (junior Samantha Siriani) to trade her tail for human legs and convince the prince that she is the girl with the perfect voice. But Ariel learns the bargain is not what it seems and needs help from her colorful friends Flounder the fish (sophomore Mackenzie Meyers), Sebastian the crab (junior Samantha Ventola), and Scuttle the seagull (senior Winnie Schwed) to restore order under the sea.

Directed by Keith Gissubel, with the musical direction of Shawn Mack and choreography by Rachel Wasser, RBC’s production of The Little Mermaid will enchant audiences with this magical and memorable tale.
