RBMS Soccer Wins Division

Local school wins division for the second year in a row!

The Red Bank Middle School Boys Soccer team have brought some more pride to Red Bank winning the Division Championship for the 2nd year in a row. They have gone 28 straight games without losing, which is the longest winning streak in Red Bank Middle School Soccer history! Their two year record is 27-0-1. The players on the team have changed throughout the two years, losing some to the high school. As they age-out, with many graduating, our team only had six returning players from last year's roster. So this year's team had to learn to work together from scratch. The team consisted of three 6th graders, seven 7th graders, and fifteen 8th graders. 8th grader, Johan Vazquez and 7th grader, Roberto Santamaria were the chosen captains for the 2017 soccer season. Each player votes for who they think would be the best leader for their team and they certainly proved worthy. Coach John Adranovitz, a fifth grade teacher in the Red Bank Middle School has been leading the team for the past 8 season. "I am most proud of the way they work together and the class they display while playing. Don't get me wrong, they play aggressive, but they have respect for each other, their opponents and the officials." The assistant coach, Isaac Nathanson, has been leading the team in warm up drills and endurance training throughout the season for the past four seasons. The Boys Soccer team will be recognized at the Borough Council meeting on Wednesday, November 29th.
