Red Bank Area Schools Close In Anticipation Of Blizzard

Breaking: In addition to the public schools, private schools announced their snow plans.

RED BANK, NJ — Red Bank area schools have announced they will close Tuesday due to the blizzard conditions predicted to hit Monmouth County.

Red Bank Borough schools, Shrewsbury Borough School, Red Bank Regional High School, Red Bank Charter School and St. James Elementary and Red Bank Catholic High School all announced they will be closed on Tuesday due to the storm.

A blizzard warning remained in effect for Monmouth County late Monday night as a powerful storm moved into the Northeast, according to the National Weather Service.

In addition to the local schools, a number of other schools that Red Bank students attend canceled classes, including:

  • Brookdale Community College: All locations, all classes and all activities are closed and canceled. The Brookdale/Rutgers Open House has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 28, 6-8 p.m. at Brookdale's Freehold Campus.
  • Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft; the Mothers Club Retreat scheduled for Tuesday also is canceled
  • Georgian Court University, Lakewood
  • Monmouth County Vocational Schools: All full-time career academies, shared-time career schools and evening adult school programs are canceled.
  • St. Jerome School, West Long Branch
  • St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel
