Red Bank Charter School Honoring King's Legacy With Day Of Service
Monday's community celebration begins at 8 a.m.

As a commitment to community service and social justice, Red Bank Charter School on Monday will recognize Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a “Day of Service.”
Students, faculty, staff and guests will participate in a series of community-wide activities designed to reflect and recognize the importance of service to others.

The day will begin with an opening reception and reflection at 8 a.m. followed by discussions on the significance of the #MarchOnmovement and an outing to see the movie “Selma,” the story of Martin Luther King’s campaign to secure equal rights via an epic march in 1965.
“We will continue service-based learning activities, listen to guest speakers from Surfrider Foundation and Actor’s Playground performances,” a news release from the school stated. The day will culminate in a Silent Walk through Red Bank in recognition of these important messages. Activities will be captured through the#RBCSMLKDay hashtag.

The Silent Walk begins at 2:30 p.m.
