Red Bank Cult Comic Book Shop Reopens On Broad Street
Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash has relocated further down Broad Street during its 23rd year in business.

RED BANK, NJ - Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, famed director Kevin Smith's larger-than-life comic book store, has found its new home.
Located at 65 Broad St., the comic, merchandise and apparel shop now sits at the corner of Wallace Street, the site of a former rug and home goods store.
The store currently has a maximum occupancy of 11 people at a time due to social distancing guidelines. A grand opening ceremony is scheduled for next month, according to a Feb. 18 tweet from Smith:

"As hard as The Stash was hit by Covid closures and other setbacks that made 2020 such an unprecedented disaster, Jay and Silent Bob are clearly too stupid to comprehend that the world doesn't need them or their store anymore - so they're building a better mousetrap just down the street," Smith wrote in a social media announcement in November.
Smith reflected on the decision not to close in a Facebook post Monday:

“When the pandemic first hit hard, I asked #waltflanagan if, after 23 years in business, it was time to shutter the Stash. Walt said no. “This place means too much to too many people to close it yet,’” he wrote. “So we found a more cost effective space and recommitted to retail - the very field that was responsible for our first film, #clerks! Thank you to the town of #redbanknj for hosting us these last 2 decades, and for cheering us on as we try for another 2 decades!”
The Monmouth County native has a catalog of cult favorite films under his belt, including “Clerks”, “Mallrats” and “Chasing Amy.” Smith's cinematic universe-inspired pop-up shop Mooby's, which made its way to Red Bank in September, has since appeared in several U.S. cities and Canada over the course of 2020.
