UPDATE: Red Bank Regional High School Cancels School; Others Open Friday

Officials at the high school made the decision Friday morning, joining Red Bank Catholic on the closure list.

UPDATE, 7:30 a.m.: Officials at Red Bank Regional High School announced Friday morning the high school will be closed Friday due to extremely icy conditions.

Red Bank Borough Schools, Shrewsbury Boro School and Red Bank Charter School remain on delayed openings at this time.

The accumulating snow that had dropped 4.5 inches in Red Bank by noon, according to the National Weather Service, continued to fall late into the afternoon, leading school officials in the Red Bank and Shrewsbury area to announce delayed openings for Friday.

Red Bank Regional High School announced a two-hour delay, with blocks 2A, 4A, lunch and study comprising the day.

The Red Bank Borough Schools also will have a two-hour delay. Parents and guardians are asked to not drop off children before 10 a.m. at the middle school or before 10:30 a.m. at the primary school and offsite Pre-K.

Shrewsbury Borough school will open at 10:30 a.m. with morning Pre-K canceled. There will be no Maschio school lunches available.

Red Bank Charter School will open at 10 a.m., officials there announced.

Red Bank Catholic High School announced it will be closed on Friday, with all afterschool activities and athletics canceled.
