Report Of Shots Fired From Car In Holmdel Under Investigation

One caller reported hearing shots fired from an older orange sedan on North Beers Street; police are investigating.

HOLMDEL, N.J.—Police here are investigating a report of shots fired from a car near North Beers Street, police said in a news release.

On Wednesday, June 8, at about 1 p.m., the department received one call reporting that someone fired several gunshots into the air from a moving car in the area of 719 North Beers St., police said in a news release on Facebook.

The car was described by the caller as an older, orange sedan, they said.

Officers interviewed numerous people in the area and received conflicting accounts. Some people reported hearing only one loud bang, some heard numerous loud noises, and another said a motorcycle entering North Beers Street from a parking lot was backfiring, police said in the release.

Officers did not find any evidence at the scene but are continuing to investigate, the release said.
