for the English Speaking Union, Monmouth County NJ
The English Speaking Union (ESU), Monmouth County Branch, celebrates English as a shared language to foster global understanding and good will by providing educational and cultural opportunities for students, educators, and members.
Serving as a volunteer ESU Board member is a fun and enriching activity that gives back to the community. The Board is structured with three officers: a President, Treasurer and Recording Secretary; and several non-officer Board members.

Each Board member works both individually and with the rest of the Board to:
• Organize and oversee branch activities;
• Promote branch growth;
• Set strategy; and
• Implement the annual plan.
Board members are assigned primary responsibility for one or more activities or events each year, and support the ongoing function of the Board and branch. This includes advertising/publicity and community outreach to raise awareness and increase membership.

An ideal Board member will:
• Understand the English language fosters unity and cooperation in dozens of countries all over the world;
• Love the English language and its history, culture and literature around the world;
• Bring knowledge to the community through branch activities;
