Shrewsbury Memorial Day Ceremony Is Monday

SHREWSBURY, N.J.—The borough's Memorial Day observance is at 9 a.m. at Patriot Isle on Monday, May 30.

Patriot Isle is at the corner of Sycamore Avenue and Route 35.

Memorial Day honors the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. It was originally known as Decoration Day and originated in the years following the Civil War, according to History.com. It became an official federal holiday in 1971.
