Stranded Kayaker Rescued By Red Bank Firefighters

RED BANK, NJ — Red Bank firefighters came to the rescue of a local kayaker after they got stuck over the weekend.

On Sunday, Deputy Chiefs Brett MacDonald, Scott Calabrese and members of the Marine Unit received a call of a kayaker stranded off Locust Avenue in the low-tide lying area.

With help from Red Bank Marina’s Steve and Chris Remaley, the kayaker was successfully removed from the low-tide mud shoreline.

According to the Red Bank Fire Department, Remaley made a tethered bridge system with multiple kayaks to bring the kayaker to safety.

The identity of the kayaker has not been released by authorities.
