Tower Hill Church and School Support the Dominican Republic

Annual drive will deliver Christmas presents to 250 students at Dominican Republic school and orphanage

Red Bank, NJ, October 30, 2017 – This October, Tower Hill School and its building partner, Tower Hill First Presbyterian Church, completed its annual collection of essentials for close to 250 students at the Eva M. Russell School and Casa Children’s Home in Monte Plata, Dominican Republic.

Tower Hill has generously filled 10 overflowing bags this year with items such as toiletries, toys, books, clothing, craft supplies, sports gear, and costume jewelry. The diversity of the items reflects Tower Hill’s desire to give the children of Monte Plata a truly well rounded supply of items needed and items to make the children smile. Moreover, all items were divided into bags that were labeled to reflect the appropriate age and needs of the children receiving. All items will be delivered by hand to the children of Monte Plata by the members of the Tower Hill missionary team. While in Monte Plata, the missionary team will also dedicate their efforts to running a vacation bible school, making minor structural repairs to the school and children’s home, painting, and spending quality time with the children.

"The 225 children at the Eva Russell School in the Dominican Republic need all the help and love they can get to set them apart from the rest of the struggling families in this 85% illiterate country. Many are orphans and others are too poor to attend public school. With the assistance of Tower Hill School, we are able to provide all the children with a bag of Christmas presents full of toys and much needed school supplies." - Marta Young, Charity Collection Lead

Once the items arrive in the Dominican Republic, they will be distributed to the children at Eva M. Russell School and Casa Children’s home by Kids Alive International. Tower Hill partners annually with Kids Alive International to distribute donations to children in need. Since 1916, Kids Alive International has ministered to hungry, sick, vulnerable, and exploited children, delivering hope and sharing the love of Christ on four continents.
