Red Bank Cluck-U Closes Temporarily After Car Crash Damages Restaurant, Injures Two

One report says it's not the first time the restaurant has been crashed into by a vehicle.

Two people suffered minor injuries when a car smashed into the front of the Cluck-U restaurant in Red Bank on Tuesday, according to reports.

The Asbury Park Press reported the restaurant, on Water Street, will be closed while extensive damage in the interior and to the facade is repaired.

The Press report said Liv Wilson, 71, was driving the car. A report by NBC 4 New York said Wilson is from Holmdel, and that Tuesday’s accident was the second time the restaurant has been hit since 2009.

NJ.com reported the two people injured were a customer from West Babylon, N.Y., and an employee from Middletown, but neither injury required treatment at the hospital.

The building was ruled to be structurally sound, the reports said.
