Looking for something fun to do with the family?  The Community YMCA has a number of great activities coming up!

 

Lend a Hand to Sandy Victims

If you feel like volunteering your time we invite members and friends to join us this Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013 from 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. in the United Way “Break A Difference” Employee Volunteer Project to help rebuild homes in Union Beach.  We will gather at the Union Beach Borough Hall, and A United Way Rebuild Leader will support and direct volunteers in projects such as painting, demolition, debris removal, sheet rocking, taping & plastering and landscaping.

Anyone interested in volunteering with us needs to register by contacting Stacey Lastella, Vice President of Camping and Outreach, ­­­­­­at slastella@cymca.org or 732.946.4598.  Release forms will be necessary for all volunteers, which can be found here.

Family Fall Fest

For some traditional fall experiences bring the whole family to Camp Arrowhead for our annual October Family Fest Saturday, October 19, 2013, 12–5 p.m! There will be tons of activities for the whole family including:  

> Hayride > Pumpkin Painting 

> Moon Bounce > Face Painting 

> Sand Art > Refreshments 

> Games and More!

(Rain Date will be Sunday, October 20, 2013).  Cost is $5 per carload, and all proceeds to benefit the Y’s Annual Campaign.

Haunted Hayride Fright Ride

For older children, teens and adults, come back to Camp Arrowhead Saturday for a spooky and fun night from 7-10 p.m. at the Y’s Haunted Hayride!  Also don’t miss our Spooky Bake Sale! This event is not recommended for young children.

Come experience:

> Witches’ Kitchen > Ghastly Ghouls

 > Bride & Groom of Doom > & Other Hidden Horrors! 

The ride is open to all, and is $5 per person.  All proceeds to benefit the Y’s Annual Campaign.

Playground build at the Red Bank Family Health and Wellness Center

The Y has the opportunity for you to make a lasting impact on your community by helping us build a playground in a day! We have received funding from Good Neighbor Pharmacy to build a new playground at the Y’s Family Health & Wellness Center in Red Bank with the nonprofit organization KaBOOM! No experience is necessary. Volunteers over the age of 18 are needed to help with building the playground, food service and more, and activities will be provided for children of volunteers. Donations are also welcome.  Breakfast, lunch, refreshments and a t-shirt to wear on Build Day will be provided for all volunteers!
