Women's Roller Derby Double-Header Set To Aid Animal Shelter In Monmouth County

The event will aid the Tails of Hope shelter, organizers with the women's roller derby teams said.

Four roller derby teams will gather in Aberdeen to raise funds for a local nonprofit animal shelter, according to organizers.

The doors at the Tab Ramos Sports Center open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, and the whistle for the first game is 6:30 p.m., with a portion of the proceeds going to Tails of Hope, a nonprofit animal shelter based in Oakhurst.

The event features the high-intensity sport of women’s flat-track roller derby in a double-header of games: the Jersey Shore Roller Girls All-Stars versus Two Rivers Roller Derby, followed by the host team the Central Jersey Roller Vixens playing Shoreline Roller Derby from Connecticut.
