13 People Hospitalized, NJ Highway Closed When Van And SUV Collided

The roadway closure lasted approximately two hours, officials said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Thirteen people were hospitalized on Thursday after an SUV and van collided on a road leading to the George Washington Bridge, an official said.

An SUV and van crashed on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Fort Lee — in the area between Hudson Terrace and the bridge —around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, said Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Lenis Valens.

Thirteen people were taken to the hospital, Valens said. All were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A portion of the roadway was closed, but reopened around 1:50 a.m., according to Valens.

The Palisades Parkway Police are investigating the incident, he said.
