2 Adults, Child Charged In Assault That Injured 3 At American Dream Mall: State Police

Three suspects were charged with assault after an incident at the American Dream mall Sunday night.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Two men and a teen were charged in an assault Sunday night that left three people injured at the American Dream mall in Bergen County, police said.

Mohammad Mahmoud, 23, from Guttenberg, and Salem Yasir, 19, from Guttenberg were charged with aggravated assault, and a 16-year-old boy from Germantown, Md. was charged with simple assault, said state police.

Police spokeswoman Caitlin Brennan said that troopers responded to American Dream parking Deck A on Sunday at 7:18 p.m.

American Dream security guards and three injured victims told police the suspects had fled in a black GMC truck with a New Jersey license plate.

Police were able to find the three suspects in a home and arrest them, Brennan said.

The two adults were taken to the Bergen County jail to await a detention hearing, while the boy was released to his guardian.

The investigation is continuing and no more information is available, Brennan said on Tuesday.
