2 Arrests In Armed Robbery At Bergen County Gas Station: Prosecutors

FORT LEE, NJ — Two Bronx men have been indicted for holding up a Fort Lee gas station last year, prosecutors said Monday.

Juan A. Almonte, 26, and Julian Guzman, 22, were charged with armed robbery after a months-long investigation, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Monday night.

Prosecutors said that just after 4 a.m. on Jan. 10, 2025, the Fort Lee Police Department responded to an armed robbery at a gas station on Route 4.

A victim was approached by a masked suspect who pointed a gun at him, demanded money and jewelry, and physically assaulted him, police said. Then, the suspect left in a waiting car.

An investigation determined that other masked suspects were waiting in the gray Acura TLX.

Late last year, a five-count indictment by a Bergen County Grand Jury was unsealed, charging Almonte and Guzman with first-degree armed robbery, second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, aggravated assault, and unlawful possession of a handgun, prosecutors said.

Both men were extradited from New York to the Bergen County jail.
