3 Men Posing As Amazon Drivers Broke Into Bergen Co. Home: Prosecutor
Three men were charged with armed robbery this week after they posed as Amazon delivery drivers to break into a Bergen County home.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Three men have been charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault after they posed as Amazon delivery drivers in February in order to break into a home in Bergen County, prosecutors said Monday.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced that Jazmir Carter, 25, of Stroudsburg, Pa., Michael Carter, 26, who's currently in the Essex County Jail, and Ameer Holcomb, 42, of Newark have been charged with armed robbery, armed burglary, weapons offenses, aggravated assault, theft, and conspiracy.
Prosecutors said that on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, around 9:30 a.m., the North Arlington Police Department received a 911 call reporting a home invasion that occurred at a North Arlington residence.

The perpetrators had posed as Amazon delivery drivers and forced their way into the residence after the homeowner opened the door, prosecutors said.
The suspects struck the homeowner with a handgun and stole cash, sneakers, and jewelry before fleeing the scene, prosecutors said.

Jazmir Carter and Michael Carter were each charged with first-degree armed robbery, second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, second-degree armed burglary; second-degree conspiracy to commit armed burglary, and second-degree unlawful possession of weapon, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, second-degree certain person to not possess a weapon, third-degree theft by unlawful taking, third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and fourth-degree aggravated assault.
Jazmir Carter was taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania, pending extradition to Bergen County.
Ameer Holcomb was charged with first-degree armed robbery, second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, second-degree armed burglary, second-degree conspiracy to commit armed burglary, and third-degree theft by unlawful taking.
He was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
The arrests are the result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the North Arlington Police Department under the direction of Chief Scott Hedenberg, a release said. Prosecutor Musella thanked the North Arlington Police Department, the FBI Safe Streets/Violent Crimes Task Force, the Stroudsburg, Pa. Regional Police Department, and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office for their assistance with the investigation.
