3 Ridgewood, Glen Rock Teens Win $2,500 National Merit Scholarships

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Each year, the highest achieving high school students across the country compete for a National Merit Scholarship, which guarantees them $1,000 to $10,000 per year during college.

Kids become eligible based on their PSAT scores, then submit an essay, recommendations, grades, and other materials to make the final rounds of consideration.

Some winners receive a scholarship from a corporation, and others receive a four-year, $2,500 amount.
