4 Break Into Glen Rock Home, Steal BMW

Glen Rock residents awoke to see thieves driving away in their BMW early Monday, police say.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — Four masked suspects broke into a Glen Rock home and stole a BMW early Monday morning, police said.

Police said that just before 5 a.m., they responded to Cranford Road on a report of a car theft in progress. Residents said a BMW was being stolen from the driveway.

Police reviewed surveillance video and determined that four suspects wearing hooded sweatshirts, dark clothing, and face coverings parked a vehicle in front of the home and got out.

The video showed that first, they entered the unlocked BMW but couldn't start it, police said.

They then entered the home through a sliding glass door. They searched various rooms and headed to the second floor.

They found the residents' wallets and are believed to have taken a key fob, police said.

When a dog woke the residents, who were sleeping, they looked outside.

One called 911 while the others watched the suspects drive away in the BMW. There were no confrontations, police said.

The Glen Rock Police Department and Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of
Criminal Investigation are investigating.
