9 Bergen County Restaurants Win Awards From Wine Spectator

The awards are given each summer to restaurants that "exemplify excellence in wine service around the globe."

NORTH JERSEY — Nine Bergen County restaurants made the list of winners in this year's Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards.

The awards are given by the magazine each summer to restaurants that "exemplify excellence in wine service around the globe."

Eighty-three restaurants were cited in New Jersey this year, many of which appeared on previous lists.

On the whole, the magazine listed 4,012 international winners.

“The restaurant industry is rapidly transforming as diners become more selective about when, how and what they drink,” said Marvin R. Shanken, Chairman and CEO, Wine Spectator

He added, “Congratulations to the 4,012 restaurants that earned a Restaurant Award and continue to elevate the wine experience for guests around the world. We raise a glass to your success.”

Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards wine service across three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence, and the Grand Award.

The Bergen County winners received the Award of Excellence. Only 99 restaurant around the world receive the Grand Award.

In New Jersey, two restaurants received the Grand Award this year: The Plukemin Inn in Bedminster, and Restaurant Latour in Hamburg.

  • Ho-Ho-Kus Inn, Ho-Ho-Kus
  • Macari Grill, Washington Township
  • Morton's, the Steakhouse, Hackensack
  • Oceano's, Fair Lawn
  • River Palm Terrace, Edgewater
  • Seasons 52, Paramus
  • Ventanas, Fort Lee
