Authorities Warn Of Aggressive Coyotes At Saddle River County Park

There have been several coyote sightings in the park recently, authorities said.

The Bergen County Sheriff's Office is urging residents to be cautious after two "aggressive" coyotes were seen in Saddle River County Park on Tuesday.

There have been several coyote sightings in the park recently, said Anthony Cureton, a sheriff's office spokesman.

Saddle River County Park is a 577-acre park consisting of five area in Fair Lawn, Glen Rock, Paramus, Ridgewood, Rochelle Park, and Saddle Brook. A multi-use path links the areas together.

The coyotes were spotted in the Rochelle Park section of the park, authorities said.

Coyote sightings should be reported to local law enforcement departments.

A coyote attacked and bit a man walking his dog in Norwood last year tested positive for rabies. That animal was later found and euthanized. A female coyote was found near a Norwood school and a den was not far away.

Coyotes were also spotted in Paramus, Ridgewood, Midland Park, and Harrington Park last year.
