Bergen County Teacher 'White Pants,' Who Sang To His Students, Dies

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A musician from Ridgewood who taught in area schools and earned the nickname "White Pants" died earlier this month. Stephen Jordan was 74, his obituary says.

Jordan graduated from Ridgewood High school in 1970, took office jobs, but realized he loved music instead, according to his obituary. He got a teaching degree, taught special education in Wallington for all of his career, and sang to students. He also performed in restaurants, earning the nickname "White Pants" for his preferred white jeans.
