BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Closter man was arrested Wednesday after he sent nude photos to an undercover officer posting as a teen girl, prosecutors said.
Kenneth G. Belhumer Jr., 58, was arrested on a charge of attempted child endangerment, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
According to officials, the Prosecutor's Office and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service Northeast Field Office began coordinating in November 2025 on a case involving online child endangerment.
Between May 8, 2025, and July 9, 2025, prosecutors said, an undercover NCIS agent — posing as a 14- year-old child online — was contacted by a man who had explicit conversations, sent nude photos, and offered to pay the child to perform sexual acts with him.
"An initial investigation led investigators to believe the suspect resided in Bergen County," prosecutors said.
On Wednesday, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit, along with NCIS, searched Belhumer's home.
"The investigation revealed that Belhumer engaged in online sexual conversations with the purported minor, constituting child endangerment," prosecutors said.
He was charged with third-degree attempted child endangerment, prosecutors said. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
