• Raccoon Bit Child And Adult In Ridgewood, Police Say (patch.com) — Ridgewood residents are being urged to stay alert after a raccoon bit a 7-year-old boy on a Maple Park trail and an adult near Brookmere Court, prompting a rabies investigation. Police and animal control are searching for the animal and advising villagers to avoid sick or aggressive wildlife, closely supervise children and pets, and immediately report any suspicious raccoon behavior or possible contact.    

• Popular Bergen tea shop to close at end of June (northjersey.com) — A beloved Ridgewood staple, Village Tea Shop, will pour its last cups at the end of June 2026 when its lease expires. Owners May and Yu Wang thanked customers for 12 years of support, calling the shop’s run an “incredible journey” and expressing deep gratitude for being part of residents’ daily routines and celebrations.    

• Montclair overpowers Livingston in NJG4 quarterfinals (nj.com subscription) — Ridgewood boys lacrosse, ranked No. 10 in the state, will host Montclair in Thursday’s NJSIAA Group 4 semifinals after Montclair’s 10-5 quarterfinal win over Livingston. The matchup follows a standout four-goal performance by Montclair’s Quinn Previdi and a strong showing from goalie Cooper O’Brien.
