BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Three men have been charged in connection with a carjacking in River Edge in 2023 that took place when they were teenagers, officials said.

Jaden Noboa, 20, of New York City, and two others have been charged with carjacking and assault, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Monday night.

Prosecutors said that on Dec. 23, 2023, the River Edge Police Department responded to an armed carjacking that occurred in a parking lot on Grand Avenue.

Three male suspects approached a victim’s car and physically removed him from the driver’s seat at gunpoint, prosecutors said.

Then, one of the suspects struck the victim in the head with a
gun and demanded the keys.

The then-teenagers got into the car and fled.

Detectives investigated for 29 months, prosecutors said.

Noboa and two other New York City residents, who were
16 and 17 years old at the time, were all charged on March 31 with first-degree carjacking, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses.

The former 16-year-old was found in New York on May 9 and arrested, prosecutors said. He was extradited to Bergen County's Juvenile Detention Center last week, prosecutors said.

The whereabouts of Noboa and the former 17-year-old are unknown, prosecutors said Monday night.
