Four Fair Lawn Traffic Stops Result In 6 Arrests On Drug Charges: Police

FAIR LAWN, NJ — Six people were arrested for drug-related offenses in July after being pulled over on Fair Lawn streets in four different incidents, officials said Monday.

Just after noon on July 1, Officer Bradley Pindyck stopped a vehicle on Maple Avenue at Hemlock Avenue
and arrested three people inside. They included: Andrew R. Kitchen, 41, Hackettstown, who had four empty heroin envelopes, two crack pipes, and a heroin envelope; Steven M.
Smith, 46, of West Milford, after he was found to be in possession of four empty heroin envelopes,
and a 63-year-old Paterson man, because he had an active arrest warrant from the the city of Paterson.

Kitchen was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and Smith was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were taken to the Bergen County Jail. The other man was taken to the Paterson Police Department.

On July 13, around 2:30 p.m., Detectives DiGuglielmo and Hearon stopped a car on Henderson Boulevard
at Maple Avenue and arrested the driver, Bradley E. Wilson, 35, and passenger Alycia L. Wilson, 35, of Westtown, NY, after they were found to have 55 heroin envelopes, 12 empty heroin envelopes, and eight glass crack pipes, police said. They were released after both were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

On July 19, around 11:30 a.m., Sgt. Geovanny Buitron stopped a car at Henderson Boulevard at Maple Avenue and arrested the driver, Cristian I. Ramos-Cartagena, 24 of Paterson, after he failed a roadside sobriety test, police said. He was found to be in possession of a Baggie of cocaine, police said. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and use of a handheld phone while driving, police said. He was turned over to another adult.

On July 23, around 2:42 p.m., Detectives DiGuglielmo and Hearon stopped a car on Route 208 North near Hawthorne and arrested the passenger, Brandon M. Noorman, 29, of Hamburg, after he was found to have 22 empty heroin envelopes, 10 heroin envelopes, seven Baggies of crack cocaine, and a glass crack pipe, police said. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released.

On July 25, around 12:39 a.m., Sgt. Luis Vasquez tried to stop a vehicle on Route 208 North at Broadway West, but the vehicle continued to drive away, police said. It was stopped a short time later on Southern Drive at Plaza Road. Police arrested the driver, Paul Michael Gelewski, 20, of Glen Rock.
He was released after being charged with eluding, careless driving, reckless driving, and failure to observe a traffic device, police said.
