BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A man who grew up in Garfield and took over a Bergen County business at age 17 has died at 82.
An obituary for Edward A. McLeod, 82, of South Carolina, says that the former Garfield and Saddle Brook resident "demonstrated an exceptional work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. At 17 years old he assumed ownership of McLeod Moving and Storage in Lodi with his wife Diane which he proudly owned and operated for more than 40 years. Through dedication and perseverance, he built the business into a lasting success before selling it at the age of 60"
McLeod collected classic cars and was a parishioner of Holy Trinity church in Garfield. Read more of his obituary here.
Services were scheduled for this weekend in Wyckoff. He will be buried in Paramus.
