Knife-Wielding NJ Man Threatened Woman, Child, Cops Say

The man faces several charges following the domestic incident.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Bergen County man is behind bars after threatening a woman and her child with a knife, according to police.

On Saturday, around 8:30 p.m., Fairview police were called to a residence on a report of a domestic incident.

Authorities met a woman who said she and Eswaur Herrera-Garcia had gotten into an argument when he pulled a knife, according to police.

With a knife in hand, Garcia began threatening the woman and her child outside of the home, police said.

Authorities arrested Garcia and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of terroristic threats, possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, and endangering a child.

Garcia was put in Bergen County Jail to await court proceedings.
