Bergen County Man Pulled Knife On Woman, Spat At Police: Cops

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Bergen County man was arrested on nine charges after he assaulted a woman and resisted arrest, police said.

Segundo Pulizaruma, 23, of Hackensack, was charged on Monday morning with aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and 13 other charges, said Hackensack Deputy Police Chief Gregory Zisa.

Zisa said police responded to Beech Street on a report that a man had threatened a woman with a knife and assaulted her.

When police tried to arrest Pulizaruma, he spat at them and physically fought with them, Zisa said.

When he was taken to police headquarters, he refused to be fingerprinted and physically fought with police again, Zisa said.

He was charged with the following: aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, throwing bodily fluids at law enforcement officers, simple assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, and failing to submit to fingerprinting.

He was taken to the Bergen County jail, Zisa said.
