BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A new Shoprite supermarket on River Road has finally announced its opening day.
"The store opens on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 7 a.m., with a ribbon cutting and special events to be announced," a spokesperson told Patch on Friday afternoon.
The spot is coming to the Edgewater Commons shopping center, a little over a month after the closing of the Acme supermarket at the same spot.
The new supermarket, at 481 River Road, will be owned by the Inserra family.
Edgewater Commons is located between River Road and the Hudson River, and is frequently passed by those traveling from Bergen toward Hudson County or Manhattan. The center also includes Target and HomeGoods.
The store is expected to have a pharmacy as well.
