RIDGEWOOD, NJ — When a resident noticed bones in Ho-Ho-Kus Brook in Ridgewood on Saturday, the person called police.
The bones were found under the Linwood Avenue Bridge, police confirmed.
Police Captain Glenn Ender told Patch on Monday that police were called around 2:25 p.m. on Saturday.
They consulted both the Bergen County medical examiner and a New Jersey State Police anthropologist.
In the end, the bones were determined to be those of a deer, Ender said.
