BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Taco Bell restaurant in Bergen County was temporarily forced to close after a truck slammed into it on Thursday during lunchtime, a store employee told Patch.
But the eatery, on Market Street in Elmwood Park, reopened for business at 9 a.m. Friday, the employee said.
Reports quoted officials as saying the 70-year-old driver of the Ford F-150 pickup may have suffered a medical episode when he crashed into the side of the restaurant around 11 a.m.
NJ.com reported that the male driver was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
Local officials did not respond to Patch by press time, but this story will be updated when more information is received.
