Park crashed his motorcycle on the Van Wyck Expressway in Briarwood around 6 a.m. while heading to the Police Academy, said news reports. He was heading onto an entrance ramp when he lost control and hit the cement barrier, said a report on Qns.com.

"Caleb had an easy smile that lit up the room and drew people to him," says his obituary. "He brought camaraderie to the teams that he was a part of, and worked for excellent results."

Services will be held in Wyckoff on Wednesday, with a celebration of life in Ridgewood on Thursday. Read more of his obituary here.
