BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Dumont man was arrested Wednesday on charges related to sexual images of children, officials said.
Nicholas J. Farinola, 45, of Dumont was charged with possession of child sexual abuse material and endangering the welfare of a child, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors said that on April 22, the prosecutor's Cyber Crimes Unit received information from the Dumont police about Farinola being in possession of child pornography.
Over months, investigators searched Farinola's devices.
They determined that he viewed, saved, downloaded, or possessed items depicting nude or sexually
explicit prepubescent and pubescent children, prosecutors said.
He was arrested on Nov. 4.
He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
