BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Police and prosecutors are investigating a holdup of a jewelry store in broad daylight on Tuesday, confirmed the town's police chief.

Maywood Police Chief Terence Kenny confirmed that an armed robbery occurred at the store in Maywood Tuesday afternoon.

The store is located on West Pleasant Avenue, in a small shopping center.

The chief said the Maywood Police Department and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Case Squad were investigating at the location.

He declined further comment, saying the Prosecutor's Office would handle further releases. Patch will update the story if more information is received.
