Bergen County Under Flood Watch, One Town Declares State Of Emergency

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — After two days of damaging thunderstorms, Bergen County is under a flood watch until Tuesday at 6 a.m.

The National Weather Service says thunderstorms may arrive after 2 p.m. Monday, with an inch of rain falling during the day and another inch at night.

The state's northeastern counties, including Bergen County, have a high risk of flash flooding, the NWS says.

Meanwhile, after the county got walloped by two days of storms this weekend, Mayor Chris DiPiazza declared a state of emergency in Paramus due to storm damage.

"I can promise residents that we have the best men and women working overtime to get our borough back to what we know and love," he said. "Most important, no injuries related to this storm have occurred."
